Juz 20 #Day20

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! We’ve reached the last ten nights of Ramadhan, hope you guys are doing just fine 😊

So today’s sharing is from juz 20 surah al-Qasas verse 10.

The literal translation of this verse is –“And the heart of the mother of Musa became empty [from every thought, except the thought of Musa]. She was very near to disclose his (case, i.e. the child is her son), had We not strengthened her heart (with Faith), so that she might remain as one of the believers.”

This particular verse is a verse of a great hope. There will be moments when people get scarred, people get emotionally damaged, then they feel like they’re never going to be able to recover and move on with life again. This verse is for them.

Remember the story of Musa’s mother who had the colossal task of taking her baby and putting the baby in the water in order to save him from being killed by the soldiers? Well, this verse is about that.

So, on that moment, Musa’s mother only had two options which are, watch her child be slaughtered by soldiers before her eyes or take her child and put him in a basket and throw him into the river and she chose the latter.

In this verse, Allah says, when she threw the baby into the river, her heart was emptied out, like the trauma of having to let go of her child and watch the child float away into the river. Imagine being in her situation where you’ll never know what’s gonna happen to her baby afterwards, if he drowned or not, if he was eaten by any wild animals, if the basket flipped over, she knows nothing. All these thoughts may be crossing her mind. You know when someone hears traumatic news and they become emotionally paralyzed, that’s the state she reached, her heart was totally emptied out.

Then in this verse, Allah also states that she almost gave up her secret, she almost came out running and saying “that’s my baby!” but if she said that, her baby would’ve been killed. And next, Allah says, had We not firmed her heart. Allah calmed her heart down and brought her back to a normal state.

This is so relatable in our everyday situation. You know when there are people that are emotionally traumatized but Allah says in this verse, He has the ability to let us heal and move on. Sometimes, we feel that we are too damaged with what happened in our life, the loss of our beloved ones, getting into an accident, loss our jobs, failed in our studies and many others. We feel like there’s no way we can move on with our life, but remember, faith in Allah is capable to make us to be strong and move on with our normal life.

In the situation of Musa’s mother, what mother can get over the trauma of putting her child in the water and not being able to see him anymore? But Allah gives her the strength to her heart and she can move on with her normal life afterwards. Whatever emotional trauma we’re going thru, know that Allah can intervene and give us peace of mind and peace of heart. Whatever thing has happened that scarred us, believe that Allah can remove that scar entirely

May Allah gives us that firmness of heart so we can be from those who truly believe Allah and those who have a strong and brave heart, amin.

Ramadhan kareem guys! 🤗
