Juz 19 #Day19

Assalamualaikum and hi guys! How are you guys doing so far? May everyone is having a good Ramadhan 🙂

So for today’s sharing, it’ll be from juz 19 surah al-Furqan verse 27-29.

The literal meaning of these verses are –“The Day on which the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, ‘If only I had taken a (straight) path alongside the Messenger! If only I had never taken such a one for a friend! He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it had come to me! The shaytan is but a traitor to man! Then the Messenger will say, “O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur’an for just foolish nonsense.”

In these verses, Allah gives us a situation where on the judgement day, the wrong-doer will saw the Prophet ﷺ walking with his followers and he’ll say, “Why am I not there? Why I didn’t take that path? How come I didn’t take a path in this life that leads to that path to Jannah? How could I be stupid enough to not to follow that?” The wrong-doer will be in a deep regret. Plus, this verse also highlight that the true proof of love and regard for the Messenger ﷺ is that His instructions mean more to us that what we want to do. We follow his teachings and apply it on our lifestyle.

So this wrong-doer will say that, ‘I wish I had taken a lifestyle up that was alongside and consistent with the Messenger’. Then, in the next verse, this wrong-doer will blame his friends. He’ll be regretting his actions by hanging out with that guys. Because they are the kind of friends who stray him away from following alongside of the Messenger ﷺ. They made the wrong-doer slip away and misguided from what’s right after they became friends.

And in the last verse, Allah uses the word ‘khazul’ which means a friend who acts like he’s our friend until the right moment, then he will slip away and leaves us hanging. And that’s what shaytan will do to us. He’ll lead us all the way to the hell and then try to run away

So, these are all the scenes on the Judgment day where these wrong-doers might seen the Prophet ﷺ walking with his followers. Then they hope that the Prophet will come to them and gives them syafaa’t but in the next verse, Allah says that the Messenger will say, ‘my Master, this part of my people (the Muslims who don’t follow the true Islam, the Muslims that are by name and inheritance only) are those who took the Qura’n and abandoned it’.

I’m sure none of us want to be on the wrong side on the Judgement day. Let’s get our act together. Find good companies who’ll not stray us from the right path and stand still with the Qura’n and the Messenger ﷺ. May Allah make us of those who took a path alongside the Messenger ﷺ in this life so we can march with him into the Jannah on the Judgement day, amin.

Ramadhan kareem everyone!
